Fylde Conclave 125, based in Blackpool decided to hold a Sunday Lunch in a conscious effort to make the Conclave more inclusive and sociable. However, realising numbers could be low the S.R. (Steve Willingham) invited Saturnian Chapter 7563 from Cleveleys to join them at Blackpool Park Golf Club.

The Chapter accepted and the collaboration was successful with both Steve and the First Principle, Shaun Haynes taking bookings and arranging the charitable side of the event. Wy Bro Ian Chetwynd was invaluable by organising the venue and acting as joint treasurer.

After an excellent dinner, a raffle (there’s always a raffle…it is Masonry after all ) raised £183.00 which would later be presented to Fylde Kids Foundation who do excellent work in the community, providing basic school items as well as a range of household basics to improve the lives of families and children on the Fylde Coast. The Charity, previously supported by Saturnian Chapter is particularly relevant to Shaun as a teacher and Steve, who has three teachers in his family all who have witnessed young people’s lives are being affected by hardship. Steve as S.R. said “Fylde Conclave will endeavour to continue support for the Foundation whenever possible.

The event was a total success, and the same event has already been booked into the calendar for next year. Shaun commented “The joining of the Chapter with the OSM has enabled both orders to promote themselves to potential members and has enabled us to hold a social event that neither of us could easily fill on our own.”       “Like many side orders in Freemasonry, we share membership, but it is great to be able to socialise with Masons we wouldn’t usually meet and to get to know them and their partners.”

As the event drew to a close and before the guests departed, Shaun invited all the members of Fylde Conclave to Saturnian Chapter’s Ladies Night further fostering the collaborative harmony witnessed on this afternoon.
